HAMPTONVILLE -Mrs. Annie Geraldine “Gerrie” Keith Miller, 91, of US Highway 21 passed away. She was born on December 1, 1932, in Forsyth County to Chapel Merman “Babe” Keith of Mars Hill and Lottie Elizabeth Johnson Keith of Wilkes County. Mrs. Miller attended Mineral Springs High School in Winston-Salem, where she participated in cheerleading and the drama club. She married and moved to Hanes Grove with her husband, Lester, and spent her remaining years on their dairy farm, Miller Brothers Dairy.
Mrs. Miller was known for her kind and gentle nature. She was formerly actively involved in the Yadkin County Home Extension Club, the West Yadkin Elementary School Reading Program, and was a member of the Yadkin County Historical Genealogical Society as well as the Clan Keith Society. She was an active member of Flat Rock Baptist Church, where she sang with the adult choir for many years. She also sang with the Yadkin County Senior Chorus. Mrs. Miller loved reading, gardening, travel, theatre, and shopping with her best friends Jeanette Bell, Irma Jean Shelton, and her daughters. Above all, she cherished her family.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Gaither Miller, and her son, Michael Keith Miller. She is survived by her beloved children: Jan Miller Bayer (Fredric), Maria Miller Keating (Michael), Lincoln Gaither Miller (Michele); grandchildren: Cheryl Miller, Rachel Rafalko, Rebekah Strupe (Michael), Cameron Keating Rechenmacher (Albert), Ana Maria Keating, Luke Thomas Miller; and great-grandchildren: Brandon Miller, Emily Miller, Mia Rafalko, Isabella Rafalko, Brayden Call, Freddy Strupe, Bayer Strupe, and Albert Rechenmacher Jr..
The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice, Home Instead Wilkes, and Flat Rock Baptist Church for their support of Mrs. Miller during her illness.
Mrs. Miller will be laid to rest in the Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery with a private family graveside service. A Service of Life Celebration will be held at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Hamptonville, NC on May 25, 2024 at 2 pm. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. All family and friends are invited to attend this service. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Miller family.
