Annie Sloop Shore

Hamptonville Mrs. Annie Sloop Shore, 95, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at SECU Hospice Care Center. Mrs. Shore was born October 7, 1924 in Surry County to Henry Monroe and Cora Lee Mounce Sloop. She was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Annie was an amazing cook and anyone who came to visit her had to eat before they left. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shore was preceded in death by her husband, John Preston Shore; sisters, Vena Caudle, Barbara Reinhardt, Lucy Smith, Iris Sloop, and Mary Sloop; and brothers, Frank, Richard, Tommy, Aubrey, Monroe, and Bud Sloop. She is survived by three children, Margaret (Gilbert) Brown, Johnny J. Shore, and Robin (Fred) Cooper; grandchildren, Keith Brown, Billy (Ann) Brown, Jason Brown, Trevin Cooper, Jonathan (Emily) Cooper, and Tara (Matthew) Flinchum; great grandchildren, Kayla Brown, Candice (Zane) Shore, Lauren Brown, Hannah Brown, Beau-Grady Cooper, Gage Cooper, Gunner Cooper, and Baby Oakleigh Flinchum; great-great grandchildren, Brock, Kaiden, Alexia, Landon, Emerson, and Millie; sisters, Kathleen Pinnix and Betty (Bill) Burney; a brother, Jerry Sloop; and a special nephew, David Sloop. The family will receive friends Monday, May 25, 2020 from 12:30 to 1:30PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00PM at Flat Rock Baptist Church with Dr. Joey Tomlin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SECU Hospice Care Center, 243 N Lee Ave. Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Flat Rock Baptist Church, 3800 Flat Rock Church Rd Hamptonville NC 27020. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of SECU Hospice Care Center especially Emily, Melissa, Mirinda, & Kathy for the loving care given to Mrs. Shore.
