Archie Dean Hobson

Boonville Mr. Archie Dean Hobson, 87, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022 at Willowbrook Nursing & Rehab. Mr. Hobson was born September 19, 1934 in Yadkin County to Harvey and Hester Mikles Hobson. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church. He was a hard-working man who always did his best to provide for his family. Mr. Hobson retired from Wake Forest University where he enjoyed working for many years. He enjoyed camping, hunting and just being outdoors. He had many good friends he enjoyed visiting and spending time with through the years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hobson was preceded in death by six sisters; four brothers; and a son-in-law, Buster Everette. He is survived by three children, Lugene Everette, Rodney (Cindy) Hobson, and Marty (Tim) Stewart; grandchildren, Lance (Kayla) Everette, Savanna (Brad) Burgess, and Brinsley (Zack) Faircloth; step grandchildren, Michelle Gordon (Ben) and Salina (Robbie) Everhart; great grandchild, Stockton Everette; great step grandchildren, Tanner Gordon, Braxton Everhart, and Eli Everhart; two sisters, Carol Powell and Stacey Smitherman; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Charity Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Nixon and Rev. Eddy Driver officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM, prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1500 Charity Church Road Boonville, NC 27011. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Share-A-Home, Willowbrook Memory Care Unit, and Mtn. Valley Hospice for the loving care and friendship given to Papa and his family. Also, thank you to Yadkin Valley Home Health and New Horizons for their assistance with caring for Papa.
