Arleen Benton Hutchins

Pfafftown Mrs. Arleen Benton Hutchins, 87, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Hutchins was born May 30, 1930 in Yadkin County to Rovy and Janie Swaim Benton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. Arleen and her husband Floyd owned and operated Hutchins & Wood Appliance Company for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hutchins was preceded in death by her loving husband, Floyd Franklin Hutchins; a daughter, Libby Cranfill; two sisters, Bernice Mendenhall and Evelyn Bruce; and seven brothers, Travis, Earl, Thad, Garvin, Hildon, Jimmy, and Reford Benton. She is survived by one daughter, Angela (Terry) Wimbish; son-in-law, Jerry Cranfill; two grandchildren, Brandi (Chris) Manley and Tyler Wimbish; and four sisters, Dorothy Kimmer, Ivy Boyer, Phyllis Faw, and Linda Zachary. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00AM, Monday, August 21, 2017 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice, Wendy Bayne, Estella Brown, and Susan Diehl for the loving care given to Mrs. Hutchins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Stanleyville 851 Ziglar Road Winston Salem, NC 27105. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
