Avery T.A. Ravit

Avery T.A. Ravit, 28, of Yadkinville, went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2020 after courageously battling a rare aggressive cancer for almost two and a half years. He was born July 16, 1992, in Yadkinville where he spent his childhood. He graduated from Forbush High School and worked for Yadkin Physical Therapy. Avery loved all things sports especially golf. His favorite teams consisted of Ohio State, Duke, and the Patriots. He loved all types of music and he developed a love for cooking. But most of all he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph W. Ravit, William Henry Brown, Jr.; great grandparents Gladys Elizabeth Brown, William Henry Brown, Sr., Agnes Ravit Scales. Surviving are his mother Michelle Lynn Ravit; father Timothy A. Brown; step mom Benita Brown; one brother Mathew T.C. Ravit; grandparents Evelyn Ravit, Eula (Bruce) Gerald; aunts Gloria Lewis, Angela Hernandez; great aunt Barbra Phillips; uncles Ben (Areneathia) Brown, Corey (Michelle) Ravit, Jerome Ravit; a host of cousins and special friends. Avery will be available for people to come by and pay their respects and sign the register book on Saturday December 26, 2020 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A private funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday December 27, 2020 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by Pastor Marvin Harper . Burial will follow at Glenn Chapel Church Cemetery in East Bend. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of the Cancer unit at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, staff at the Clemmons Cancer Center and to the staff at Yadkin Physical Therapy for the loving care given to Avery.
