Barbara Anne Hurt Hitchcock

Barbara Anne Hurt Hitchcock, 82, passed away Monday December 18, 2023. She was born September 21, 1941 to the late Ernest Lee Hurt and Mary Elizabeth Tilghman Hurt. She enjoyed Beach trips with family, singing, and gardening. She was active in church as long as her health allowed. Christmas was her favorite holiday.  She was preceded in death by her parents, also her son Brian Smith and brother Roger Lee Hurt. Surviving are her daughter Karen (Randy) Cox; grandchildren Shannon (Chris) Shores, Kayla (Randall) Reynolds, Miranda Hall; great grandchildren Alex Wall, Jacob Wall, Piper Hall, Brayden Reynolds, Logan Reynolds, Dalton Reynolds. The family will receive friends form 1-2 PM January 13, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A memorial service will follow in the Gentry Family Chapel at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Just go on the Kidney Foundation website to donate. The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at Liberty Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Hitchcock. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the family.
