Barbara Money Royal

Barbara Money Royal, age 88, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She was born July 12, 1932 in Iredell County to the late Fred Monroe Money and Helen Lewis Money. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James E. “Jim” Royal; her brother, Richard Money; nieces and nephews, Barbara (Bob) Amato, Cathy Hayes-Harris, Rick Money, Don (Melissa) Money, Mike (Maria) Money; great-nieces and great-nephews, Winter Money, Rebecca Money, Freddie Money, Paige Money, Eddie Cristobal, and sister-in-law, Audrey Hayes. Barbara enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, and she loved taking day trips, just riding in the car with Jim. She was a phenomenal piano player, having played with several jazz bands early in her life. Mrs. Royal was a graduate of Guilford College with a degree in music. She retired from Western Electric after 30 plus years as an Editor. There will be a graveside service at Asbury UMC Cemetery on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
