Barbara Cooper Russell

Barbara Cooper Russell, 85, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022. She was born September 1, 1937 in Yadkin County to the late Homer and Ruby Martin Cooper. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Anderson Russell, Sr.; sister, Emma Smith; brothers, Frank Cooper, James Cooper, Steve Cooper, Freddie Cooper. Surviving are her children, Denise Williams (long time friend - Stanford Williams), Richard A. (Cynthia) Russell, Jr., Sharon Russell; grandchildren, Kelisha (Deitrich) Hancock, Tamara (Joseph) Conrad, Lamar (Julie) Russell; great grandchildren, Breanna Hancock, Brittani Hancock, Kameron Conrad, Makhi Russell, Joseph Conrad, Jr.; sisters, Lorette Avent, Carolyn Nichols; brother, Donald Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 17, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Johnny Scott. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Russell family.
