Boonville Beatrice Hobson Davis, 88, slipped peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior at Forsyth Hospital on September 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving children. Mrs. Davis was born on March 23, 1929, in Yadkin County to Grover and Ila Martin Hobson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wesley Davis; and four sisters, Lexie Johnson, Josephine Hutchens, Emogene Frazier, and Gay Macemore. She is survived by a sister, Lena Allen; two daughters, Darlene Reinhardt (Greg), Ginger Davis (Jim Morris); a son Jerry Davis (Mitzi); a grand-daughter, Brooke Cole (Kevin); and great grandchildren, Penelope and Ethan Cole. Mrs. Davis graduated from Boonville High School where she was a star basketball player. She worked for Hanes Hosiery and retired from K-Mart in Elkin. She was an active member of Union Grove Baptist Church until illness prevented her from doing so. Mrs. Davis was known for her cooking skills and shared wonderful recipes and cooking tips with her family and friends. She loved gardening, nature and bird watching. She loved antiques, and she loved to do crafts. She carved birds, did woodworking, made baskets and painted. She was also pretty good at “Candy Crush” and puzzles. Those who knew her appreciated her quick wit and humor. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00PM, Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
