Beckey Lynn Hutchens Childress

Beckey Lynn Hutchens Childress, 73, passed away on Sunday April 7th 2019 at Willowbrook Nursing Center. She was born in Yadkin County on June 14, 1945; she was the daughter of the late Joyce Martin Hutchens and Dorothy Jean Hutchens. She was a homemaker, worked with small children in various daycares, enjoyed restoring furniture and antiques as well as baking cakes. She is survived by her children Frank (Cyndi) Childress of Lakeland, FL and Melody (Steve) Koslawy of North Carolina; grandchildren Ana, and Miranda Childress, Aaron and Adam Koslawy, and great grandchild Jace Koslawy. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Carolyn (Buddy) Parker of Yadkinville and by her brother Clark (Margie) Hutchens of East Bend. She was preceded in death by her partner David Childress and a sister, Tamara H. Montgomery and brother, Larry C. Hutchens, A memorial service to celebrate Beckey’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 11th, 2019 at Gentry Family Funeral Service with the Rev. Bobby Choplin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, Yadkinville, North Carolina or the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
