Yadkinville Mr. Benjamin Henry Shore, Sr., 89, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at his home. Mr. Shore was born June 7, 1932 in Iredell County to Rossie Steelman and Annie Pearl Dobbins Shore. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during the Korean War. Mr. Shore was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as an usher for many years. He worked at McLain Trucking Co. for 27 years and at Integon Corp. for 5 years before becoming self-employed. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shore was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Henry Shore, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucinda “Cindy” Carter Shore; a daughter, Jenny Lynne Shore Pinnix; grandchildren, Nathan Clark, Rachel Pinnix, Cameron Shore, and Carter Shore; daughter-in-law, Brenda Greeson Shore; a sister, Helen Shore Cox; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Leslie Cox and Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Baptist Church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and NC National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Appalachia Service Project, 4523 Bristol Hwy Johnson City, TN 37601.
