Betty Alice King Waters

Waters Courtney-Betty Alice King Waters, 82, of Davie County, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018. She was born in Noblesville, Indiana on November 20, 1936 to the late Tony and Minnie Cooper King. Mrs. Waters was a member of Courtney Baptist Church where she loved to cook for the congregation and all of her friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Dale Waters, twelve brothers and sisters, a daughter, Donna Jane Purkey, a grandson, Justin Lee Purkey, and a son-in-law, William “Bill” Driscoll, Jr. Surviving are a daughter, Vickie Purkey Driscoll, two sons, Rodney Keith (Melissa) Purkey, and Robert Lee (Ginger) Purkey, and numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Courtney Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Capps and James Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Courtney Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June14, 2018 at Hamilton Memorial Park in Westfield, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Courtney Baptist Church, 3341 Courtney Church Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Waters family.
