Betty Mullis Couch

Mrs. Betty Jean Mullis Couch, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was born in Iredell County on June 25, 1932 to Benjamin and Lilly Mae Mullis. Betty worked at Unifi and Yadkinville First Baptist Church Daycare for many years. She was a member of West Yadkin Baptist Church, where she loved to go to church. Betty enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to gospel music. She loved her flowers, especially her rose garden, plants, cooking, canning, going to the beach, and just taking a ride somewhere. Betty was a beloved mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Calvin Couch; her son, David Anthony “Tony” Couch; and siblings Mildred (Gary) Caudle, Virginia Mullis, Lois (George) Medvetz, Edward Mullis, Joe Mullis, Ben (Cleo) Mullis, and Roger Mullis. She is survived by her loving children, Thomas “Mike” Michael Couch and Robert “Bobby” Clayton Couch (Rene Welborn); brother, William “Gray” (Michelle) Mullis; daughter-in-law, Elisa Couch; sisters-in-law, Reba Mullis, Mary Lou Mullis, and Marilynn Mullis; grandchildren, Michael “Dale” (Reja) Couch, Adam Couch, Ashton (Brandon) Lyon, and Timothy “Timmy” Couch; great-grandchildren, Jackson Couch, Kellen Couch, Oaklyn Lyon, and Archer Lyon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at West Yadkin Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden and Rev. Paul Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving staff at Mt. Valley Hospice, Wellcare, and Yadkin County Emergency Services. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Couch family.
