Betty Ruth Cranfill Dolinger

Mrs. Betty Ruth Cranfill Dolinger, 90, passed away on February 11, 2025. She was born in Yadkin County on May 27, 1934 to the late Miles Eugene Cranfill and Amelia Jane Wood Cranfill. Betty enjoyed sewing, crafts, puzzles, going camping and to the mountains, flowers, and birds. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gentry Dolinger; sons, Gentry Dolinger, Jr., Gerald Dolinger, and Larry Dolinger; granddaughters, Janet Dolinger and Heather Matthews; and a great grandchild, Corbin Hardy. She is survived by her children, Violet (Jimmy) Hastings, Freddie Dolinger (Lynn), Sue (Rick) Matthews, Melissa (Mark) Hardy; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who adored their “Grandmoo”; and several nieces and nephews. 

A Funeral Service for Betty will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel of Yadkinville. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church in Hamptonville, NC. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice in memory of Betty’s son, Larry Dolinger. The family would like to extend their thanks to Karen Lovelace and Libby Matthews for their love and care over Betty.
