Betty Gene Long

Betty Gene Long, 86, of Longtown passed away peacefully April 7, 2019 at her Home. She was born July 30, 1932 to Eugene Gladson Long and Geneva Tucker Long. Betty aka Nanny retired from Western Electric. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren to “Pieces” as she always said. She loved cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant brother Dwight Eugene Long. Surviving are her daughter Andrea Combs York; grandchildren David (Tracy) Vestal, Taylor (Clint) York, Erin (Mason) York- Horst; great grandchildren Carson Annette Vestal, Gabrial Dash Foster; sister JoAnn Kochman, brother Bill (Vickie) Long; Andrea’s Father David (Diane) Combs; many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Wednesday April 10, 2019 at Longtown United Methodist Church. Her funeral will be conducted following the visitation at the church by Rev. Tilden Bridges. Burial will follow in Longtown cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of New Horizons and Trellis Supportive Care for the loving care given to Mrs. Long.
