Betty Jean Hinshaw Trivette

Mrs. Betty Jean Hinshaw Trivette, 89, gained her heavenly wings on Monday February 1, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, ICU. She was born in the Fall Creek area of Yadkin County on February 1 1932; Daughter of the late Oscar Gorrell Hinshaw and Florence Alice Hobson Hinshaw. Betty was a member of Charity Baptist Church and faithfully attended until her health declined. She graduated from Boonville High School where she excelled at basketball in 1950. On July 13, 1950 she married Glen Richard Trivette, Sr. at Carolina Beach, NC. They celebrated 62 years of marriage until Glen’s death on January 30, 2013. Betty had worked at Hanes Horsiey, Hunter Publishing and on the family farm raising two sons, cattle, tobacco, and small grains. She loved working in her yard and flowers too. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death, by her son; Sisters; Joyce Jester (Howard), Ruby Nell Benton (Thad), Wanda Cass, Brothers; Pete (Betty), Rex (Frankie) and Steve Hinshaw. She is survived by her son; W. Neil Trivette, brothers; Bob (Clara), Bruce (Pat) and Gary (Belva) Hinshaw, brother-in-law; Dwight Cass, 14 nieces and 7 nephews. Also, her beloved feline companions, Monkey and Tiger. A celebration of life service will be held at 2;00 pm Saturday February 6, 2021 at Gentry Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eddie Driver officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Trivette will lie in state on Friday February5, 2021 from 8:00 to 4:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 till 2:00 pm. at Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville. The family would like to thank Dr. James S. McGrath and Yadkin Nursing Center for their care and compassion. Also, the Emergency Department and ICU at Wake Forest Baptist Health, who cared for her in the last hours.
