Betty Jane Jeffrey

Mrs. Betty Jane Jeffrey, 74, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born February 18, 1949 in Mabscott, West Virginia to the late Frankie James Slate and Betty Ethel Torres. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Grady R. Jeffrey, Sr. and her siblings, Robert Davis, James Davis, Frankie Slate, Sandra Slate, and Okey Slate. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gloria (Michael) Underwood, Jack Wood, Richie (Elisha) Jeffrey; grandchildren, Brad Underwood, Megan Underwood, and Marshall Jeffrey; and several great-grandchildren and a sister, Linda Torres. Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and talking to everyone she met anywhere she was. She never met a stranger. Betty was of the Pentcostal Holliness faith. She loved Jesus and was not ashamed to share her faith with anyone. She faithfully attended Redland Church for the past 9 years, where she loved singing in the choir. The family will receive friends Monday, April 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service. A private graveside service will be conducted with Pastor Dave Richardson Jr. officiating at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redland Church Building Fund, 137 Baltimore Rd., Advance, NC 27006. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Jeffrey family.
