Betty Jo Vestal Nance

Yadkinville Mrs. Betty Jo Vestal Nance, 83, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Nance was born October 17, 1937 in Yadkin County to the late Charles “Fred” and Mae Reavis Vestal. She was a member of Turner’s Creek Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school., and served as Church Treasurer as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Nance was an amazing cook and seamstress. She provided many meals for bereaved families and volunteered with Hospice. Her kindness and positive spirit will never be forgotten. Mrs. Nance is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Albert “Buck” Oneal Nance; children, Karen (Gerald) Wheeler, Alan Nance, and David (Tammy) Nance; a brother, Max (Elizabeth) Vestal; and two nephews, Neil (Robin) Vestal & family, and Keith (Sarah) Vestal & family. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Turner’s Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Scott Welch and Rev. Roy Flynt officiating. Mrs. Nance will be available for public viewing Tuesday, Dec. 29th from 3:00 to 5:00PM and Wednesday, Dec. 30th from 8:00AM to 1:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Turner’s Creek Baptist Church 3216 Courtney-Huntsville Rd Yadkinville, NC 27055, to Mtn. Valley Hospice PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055, or to Yadkin County Senior Center PO Box 1878 Yadkinville, NC 27055.
