Mrs. Betty Triplett Martin, 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was born on March 26, 1938 to Joel Triplett and Hycienth Barney Triplett. Betty was a member of Jonesville First Baptist Church. She loved her church and was very involved with all church activities. Betty was a very devout Christian and everything she did was centered around Christ. She loved to cook big family dinners. Betty enjoyed doing cross-stitch. She was a well-known basketball player and an avid golfer. Betty played golf every day of the week and was very good. She devoted her life to raising her two granddaughters. Betty was always cheering her granddaughters on in sports and dance. She will be very missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Martin; daughter, Laura Martin Kimmer; sisters, Peggy Stanley, Gene Groce, and Laura Gilliam; brothers, Donnie Triplett, Larry Triplett, and Jimmy Triplett; and a granddaughter, Eden Kimmer. She is survived by a granddaughter, Kristen Ryon and great-grandchildren, Sophia Carter and Chance Carter.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Jonesville First Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm at the church with Pastor Roger Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601. The family would like to express a special thank you to Betty’s nephew, Brian Gilliam, for all of his love and support given to Betty during the last few years. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Jonesville is serving the Martin family.
