Gale Sizemore

Betty “Gale” Bowman Sizemore, 78, of Yadkinville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Born on June 3, 1946, in Iredell County, Gale was the beloved youngest daughter of the late Riley Franklin Bowman and Betty Ann “Annie” Huffman Bowman.

Gale devoted over 30 years of dedicated service to Unifi, all while gracefully balancing her role as a loving and committed homemaker. She expressed her deep love for family and friends through her cooking, especially her homemade biscuits and gravy, banana pudding, and signature Thanksgiving fried dressing. Gale found joy in life’s small pleasures, including her treasured beach getaways, mountain retreats, and shopping adventures with her granddaughters and sisters. Known for her generous heart, she delighted in giving gifts and making family feel special. Gale will be remembered for her culinary talents, and the love she shared for her close family circle.

In addition to her parents, Gale was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Henry Wayne Sizemore and sisters, Carolyn Hutchens, Doris Wallace and Linda Bowman. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Kevin Sizemore and his wife Jamie, grandchildren, Katelyn, Konner and Stella Sizemore, siblings, Garland Bowman, Reba Hutchens and Gray Bowman and his wife Carolyn. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with friends Sunday, April 27, 2025, At Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. A funeral service honoring Gale’s life will be held in the Gentry Family Chapel at 3:00 pm with Pastor James Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Courtney Baptist Church Cemetery.
