Betty Jean Macy Vanhoy

Betty Jean Macy Vanhoy, 78, passed away Monday February 10, 2025.She was born March 25, 1946 in Yadkin County to the late William Clay Macy and Nellie Laura Swaim Macy. Betty was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being outside, gardening, church work, and spending time with the family. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Patricia Ann Macy Woodle. Surviving are her son Shane Vanhoy; brothers Gray (Mary) Macy, Ronnie Macy; sister-in-law Gayle (Gary) Salley; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday February 12, 2025 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday February 13, 2025 at St. Paul United Methodist Church by Rev. Greg Freeman and Rev. Jerry Childress. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff at the ICU at Forsyth Hospital for the loving care given to Mrs. Vanhoy.
