Betty Charles Vestal

Betty Charles Vestal, 84, passed away on February 21, 2025. To know her was to love her. She was born on July 19, 1940 to the late Clarence Vestal and Edith Cook Vestal. 

Betty was a member at Union Grove Baptist Church for many years where she volunteered in the nursery, Sunday school, VBS, and the meal team. Her main focus in life was Samantha. She enjoyed watching her play many sports, specifically basketball, and just teaching her about life. She taught her that the most important thing is to have a relationship with God and keep Him first. She watched her grandchildren, Whitney and Danielle, and enjoyed making memories with them. They will always remember her good cooking. Her great grandchildren were so special to her and they will always remember her snacks. Betty enjoyed watching both the Men’s and Women’s Carolina Basketball teams. She also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. She spent time in God’s Word. Betty enjoyed walking daily. She always took the time to send cards to others. She loved gospel music and enjoyed going to concerts. 

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Daniel Loomis. She is survived by a daughter, Samantha Vestal (John) Haywood; sister, Barbara Dean Loomis; grandchildren, Danielle (Mark) Nichols and Whitney (Brandon) Renegar; great grandchildren, Rhyleigh, Aiden, Owen, Aubrey, Katie Mae, and Abi Jane. 

A Celebration of Life for Betty will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Kenny Gooden and the Rev. Luke Money. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
