Yadkinville Mr. Billy Ray Hodge departed his life only 4 hours after his 81st birthday with his dearly loved family by his side at his home. He was born September 20, 1941 in Yadkin County to Henry and Ruby Hodge. Billy met his wife Judy on the first day of high school and was the love of his life. They were married on December 22, 1962. His family meant everything to him, and then came his love of animals. Throughout his life, Billy had a mixture of cattle, goats, horses, chickens, guineas, rabbits, peacocks, etc. and his favorite animal was Lilly, a small dog he bought for Judy. Lilly will greatly miss Billy along with all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Billie was preceded in death by his brothers, Monroe and Robert Hodge. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Judy Dull Hodge; children, Wendell (Karen) Hodge and Chad Hodge; grandchildren, Haley Hodge and fiancée Brady Williard and Brooke Hodge; step grandchild, Taylor (Kyle) Renegar; step great grandchildren, Brody and Macy Renegar; sisters-in-law, Roselyn Hodge and Betty Hodge; several nieces and nephews; and their traveling friends for the past 29 years, Alex and Kay Shugart. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Chaplain Mark Brown, Roy Sheek, and Danny Royal officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
