Billy Gray Phillips

PHILLIPS East Bend- Mr. Billy Gray Phillips, 76, of East Bend, passed away peacefully at his home gathered by all his family and his Pastor, Rev. Chad Shoaf. Mr. Phillips was a strong Godly man. We know that he is flying with the Angels. He was born in Yadkin County on February 19, 1941 to the late William Ernest and Pauline Hayes Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a member of Baltimore United Methodist Church. He was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 30 plus years of service. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Phillips was an avid pilot, and loved baseball, hunting and fishing. He also loved his days of coaching at Forbush Elementary School. He loved supporting the Hunter Safety Team. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Allen Phillips; his three children, Jeffrey (Michelle) Phillips, Denise (David) Mosteller, and Paulette (Jay) Hutchens; grandchildren, Justin Phillips and fiancée Andrea, Brooke (Carl) Mosteller, Drake Phillips, Capt. U.S.A.F. Michael (Hannah) Mosteller, Nathaniel Mosteller, Savannah Mosteller, Jarette (Katherine) Hutchens, and Lissa Hutchens and fiancée Ethan; a step great-grandchild, Kayden Donathan; a brother, Bobby (Linda) Phillips; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Baltimore United Methodist Church with Rev. Chad Shoaf and Rev. Bill Hale officiating. The body will lie instate from 1:30pm until 2:00pm at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 6:00pm -8:00pm at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baltimore United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2419 Baltimore Road, East Bend, NC 27018 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, SECU Hospice in Yadkinville, 320 W.
