Billy Gray Shore

Billy Gray Shore, 74, of Jonesville, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Hugh Chatham Hospital. He was born in Forsyth County on June 29, 1944 to the late Oval Varnie Shore and Beatrice Viola Felts Shore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Varnie Lee Shore, James Shore; and a brother-in-law Leroy Brown. Mr. Shore was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Wagoner Shore; daughter Stephanie Bare; step-sons, Ben Brown (Page), Tim Brown (Megan), Dean Nixon Jr. (Diane), and David Nixon (Laura); grandchildren Cameron, Justin, Natasha, and Sarah; 10 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Brown; brother Bobby Shore (Frances); sister-in-law Dottie Shore and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Gentry Funeral Chapel, Jonesville with Rev. Gary Blalock, Rev. Dwayne Byrd and Steve Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow at the Longtown cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
