Billy Cecil Snow

November 15, 1940 — August 9, 2021

Billy Cecil Snow, 80, our loving dad, Papaw, brother and friend passed away unexpectedly at home on August 9, 2021. Billy was born November 15, 1940 in Surry County to Cleve Columbus and Clara “Tishie” Hawks Snow. He lived most of his life in Yadkin County where he and his beloved wife Vicky Dixon Snow raised their daughters Tammy and Dana. Billy retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church in Yadkinville. He was an avid Carolina Tarheel fan. Some of his biggest joys was cheering on the Tarheels, coaching and watching softball, fishing, raising his bees and running his beagle pups. Billy had a true passion to rescue stray animals. You never knew what he would bring home next or bring to our house. His pride and joy was being Papaw to his four grandchildren Kayla, Lindsay, Megan and Logan. Billy was preceded in death by his wife Vicky Dixon Snow; his parents, Cleve and Tishie Snow; and a sister, Faye Snow Willard. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters and their husbands, Tammy and Jody Smith and Dana and Jamey Martin; grandchildren, Kayla and Michael Shealy, Lindsay Ray, Megan Smith, and Logan Martin; a great granddaughter due to arrive in December 2021; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Ronald Shore; adopted family, Bill, Darlene, Nick and Alex Weidner; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 4:00PM, at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with a visitation following. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the friends and family that were a part of his life. They are especially grateful to Bill and Darlene Weidner who helped care for Billy on a daily basis. They would also like to thank Andy Willard and Jeanne and Michael Bolick for their love and time spent on outings and special adventures with Billy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Compassion Care Pregnancy Center PO Box 1552 Yadkinville, NC 27055 in honor of the upcoming birth of his first great grandchild. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Snow family.
