Bobby Watson Mathis

Bobby Watson Mathis, 62, passed away Thursday January 11, 2018. Mr. Mathis was born January 1, 1956 in Surry County. He was a member of Deep Creek Friends Church. Mr. Mathis was preceded in death by his father Noah Raeford Mathis; daughter in law Jodie Mathis; Brother in law Michael Lyons. Surviving are his wife Katie Smith Mathis; his mother Peggy Swaim Mathis; Children Teaskhea Mathis, Bobby Mathis, Jason Ball; granddaughter Brenda Wilson; sisters Janet (Pete) Vestal, Kathy (Greg) Huggins, Wendy (Ronnie) Swaim, Susan (Terry) Hooker; brothers Jimmie (Patricia) Mathis, Danny (Diane) Mathis. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Monday January 15, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 Monday January 15, 2018 at Deep Creek Friends Church Cemetery by Rev. Randy Quate. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Randy, Deep Creek Friends Church family, and to Food Lion and all who surrounded him and prayed for him.
