Bobby Allen Mendenhall

Bobby Allen Mendenhall, 84, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018. He was born February 20, 1934 in Yadkin County to the late David and Martha Mendenhall. He was a member of Island Ford Baptist Church. He was an independent truck driver and enjoyed being at home spending time with his family. He enjoyed riding horses, wagon trains, and auction sales. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a son Danny Wagoner; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.  He is survived by his wife Versie Mendenhall; children Vickie Mendenhall, Alene (Danny) Brown, Eddie (Robin) Mendenhall, Michelle (Robert) Whitaker, Renee Mendenhall; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters Clara (Raleigh) Autry, LouRay Poindexter; brothers Phillip (Janet) Mendenhall, Odell (Jenny) Mendenhall, David (Karen) Mendenhall, Jimmy (Pat) Mendenhall and his faithful K-9 companion “Coco”. The family would like to thank a very special niece Ann Carter and special close family friend Charles Renegar and friends Don Hellard, Eddie Kilby, Helen and Donnie Kartes for the love shown to the Mendenhall family. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 29, 2018, 4:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. John Brown and Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Interment will follow in the Boonville Cemetery.
