HAMPTONVILLE -  Bobby Lee Padgett, 56, of Hamptonville, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Hamptonville.  He was born on Friday, September 23, 1966 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Marsha Phillips.  Bobby was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.  To his friends, he loved being the life of the party, always making sure everybody felt part of the family , even if they just met.  Bobby worked as a voice engineer for much of his career.  In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed playing and listening to music, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with friends and family.  He is survived by his wife, Peggy Padgett; his children, Marcus (Amanda) Padgett, Lacey (Zach) Wilson; step-children, Amanda Christy, and Joshua Christy; his siblings, Stephanie Hill, Shannon Phillips, and Matthew Phillips; and his grandchildren, Florence “Kay Kay” Wilson, Amelia “Lil A” Wilson, Grayson Black, and Cooper Padgett.  At Bobby’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.  Instead, he asked that his friends and family celebrate life in the way he always did, by spending it with each other around a bonfire by the river.  The family will notify loved ones of a collective celebration of life once scheduled.  The family of Bobby wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist ICU and Mountain Valley Hospice care.  Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Padgett Family.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
