Bobby Lee Steelman

Steelman Yadkinville- Mr. Bobby Lee Steelman, 85, of Yadkinville, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at his home. He was born in Yadkin County on September 15, 1931 to William Thomas and Rose Asylee Brandon Steelman. Mr. Steelman was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lone Hickory. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he served as a communication specialist stationed in Germany. Mr. Steelman was retired from Yadkin Valley Telephone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Lucy Ledbetter Steelman, a son Phillip Lee Steelman and by three sisters, three brothers, and two half-brothers. He is survived by his wife, Katheryn Allen Steelman, a daughter Pamela Jean Steelman, his grandson, Jamie Lee Steelman, step-daughter Valerie Smith, step-sister, Barbara Royall, step-brothers, Howard Steelman, Paul Steelman, and Jimmy Steelman. Great-grandchildren, Devin and Holly. His memorial service will be held Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Gentry Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brian Chilton officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard and Yadkin V.F.W. Post 10346.
