Bonnie Hayes Vestal

Boonville Mrs. Bonnie Virginia Hayes Vestal, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Vestal was born November 23, 1925 in Surry County to Andrew Jackson and Bertie Davis Hayes. She was a member of Boonville UMC where she served as a Sunday school teacher, President of the UMW, Church Treasurer, and Chairman of PPR. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and taking care of Tula. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vestal was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Tula Winford Vestal; a sister, Madgeline Stevens; and two brothers, John Buford Hayes and Joseph M. Hayes. She is survived by two children, Dan (Connie) Vestal and Mitzi (Jerry) Davis; one sister, Martha Holt; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Holsclaw and Myrtle M. Hayes; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bonnie will be conducted at 3:00PM Saturday April 21, 2018 at Boonville UMC Fellowship Hall with Rev. Jenny Stewart and Rev. CM Worthy officiating. Burial will follow at Grassy Creek UMC cemetery, 145 Klondike Rd State Road, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boonville UMC Facilities Improvement Fund, PO Box 178 Boonville, NC 27011.
