Brenda Martin Wooten

Wooten Yadkinville-  Mrs. Brenda Martin Wooten, 77, of Hickory Street passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at the SECU Mountain Valley Hospice Care Center of Yadkin, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born December 23, 1939 in Yadkin County to the late Aubrey and Nell Spicer Martin.  Mrs. Wooten worked several years earlier at Food Fair in Yadkinville before spending the rest of her life working as a beautician from her home.  She was a faithful and active member of Maplewood Baptist Church where she served the church as a member of the choir, Sisters in Christ, and other hospitality committees.  The love of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchild.  She cherished spending time with each of them, and instilled her strong will and faith into their lives.  Surviving are her beloved husband of 60 years, H.L. Wooten, of the home; her 3 daughters, Debbie Wooten Brown and husband, Pastor John Brown of Boonville; Lisa Wooten Miller and husband, Johnny Miller of Advance; Leigh Wooten Meadows and husband, Jeff Meadows of Lewisville; Grandchildren, Spencer (Maggie) Brown, Wesley Brown (fiance’ Molly Haynes), McKenzie Miller, Caleb Miller, Hannah Meadows, USMC Lance Corporal Luke Meadows (fiance’ Bethany Brake); great-grandson, Tripp “Little Man” Harmon; sister, Phyllis Martin Martin, Augusta, Ga.; and a brother, Aubrey Martin, Jr., of Florida.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday at Maplewood Baptist Church by Pastor Jimmy Lancaster and Pastor John Brown.  Interment will follow the service in Yadkin Memorial Gardens.  The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of the SECU Mountain Valley Hospice Care Center of Yadkin, and to Melinda, Kathleeen, and Chaplain Mark Brown, for all their loving care and support.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Maplewood Baptist Church Project RACK, PO Box 576, Yadkinville, NC  27055 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 243 East Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
