Mr. Buddy Lee Rhodes, 72, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mr. Rhodes was born March 4, 1948 in Kannapolis, NC to Nathaniel and Anna Lou Grogan Rhodes.  He was a member of Old Fashion Baptist Church.  Mr. Rhodes was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the American Legion #336 and Yadkin VFW Post 10346, where he served as Chaplain of both chapters.  He enjoyed golfing and riding his motorcycle, but his real passion was playing music.  He, along with his music, stories, and jokes will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Yancy; and three brothers, Robert Allen, Buck Davis, and Nathan Rhodes.  He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Bernice Hutchens Rhodes; a daughter, Sandy (Chris) Hunt; step children, Deborah (Earl) Cook, Janet (Kenny) Webb, William (Michelle) Byers, and Lisa (Marty) Jones; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Christy (Lee) Allman and Janelle Allen; and a brother, David (Patricia) Rhodes.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Old Fashion Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Edwards officiating.  Full military honors will be provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the National Guard Honor Guard.  Mr. Rhodes will be available for viewing Wednesday, Dec. 2^nd from 8:00AM to 5:00PM and Thursday, Dec. 3^rd from 8:00AM to 12:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Fashion Baptist Church 7220 Mayberry Mill Rd Hamptonville, NC 27020 or to Tri State Children’s Home 1528 Vance Tank Rd Bristol, TN 37620.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center ICU for the loving care given to Mr. Rhodes.
