Calvin Coolidge Shore

Boonville Mr. Calvin Coolidge Shore, 94, passed away August 11, 2019 at his home. Mr. Shore was born March 28, 1925 in Yadkin County to William Parks and Carrie Reinhardt Shore. He attended Longtown Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from RJ Reynolds. Mr. Shore enjoyed rabbit hunting, gardening, tobacco farming, and watching the Braves and Tarheels. He coached baseball for over 35 years, from little league to semi-pro. Mr. Shore was a veteran of the US Army, having served during WWII. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shore was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hayes Shore; a son-in-law, Howard Booe Jr.; a great grandson, Nicholas Waddell; two sisters; and four brothers. He is survived by four children, Judy Booe, Ronald (Kim) Shore, Tommy (Denna) Shore, and Christy Shore; grandchildren, Julie Waddell, Stephanie Brewer, Ryan (Melissa) Shore, Amber Shore, Alex and Olivia Jester; great grandchildren, Brantley Waddell, Ashlen Booe, Peyton, London, and Calvin Fleming, and Ayla Brewer; step great grandchildren, Blake, Kasey and Kaitlyn Brown; great-great grandson, Cayden Blake; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Longtown Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Tony Goins, Rev. JP Sizemore and Rev. Herb Tuten officiating. Burial will follow in Longtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Mr. Shore.
