Allman East Bend- Mr. Carl Hampton Allman, 88, of East Bend, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his home. He was born in Yadkin County on May 29, 1930 to John and Estelle Blakely Allman. Mr. Allman was a truck driver for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for many years from which he retired. He vacationed often at White Lake and he loved attending auctions. Mr. Allman would help his neighbors, friends, and even the homeless if they needed his help. He treasured his grandchildren and he was their beloved “PaPa.” He bought a motorhome and took his grandchildren on many trips. He was also a mechanic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Armand Allman. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Arlene Hamlin Allman, two children, Carl Travis (Linda) Allman and Trent (Tara) Allman, grandchildren, Tiffany (Aiden) McCaul, John Travis Allman, Nate (Megan) Allman, Josh Allman, one step-grandson, Brandon (Shannon) Shore, two step-great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Jackson Shore, and a sister-in-law, Vallie Allman. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Gentry Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robin Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cross Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 1-3 pm at Gentry Family Funeral Home. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Allman family.
