Carol Cranford Hutchens

Mrs. Carol Cranford Hutchens, 80, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was born April 1, 1943 in Randolph County to the late Ernest Olen Cranford and Lucy Snider Cranford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gerald Eugene Hutchens; a son, Jeffrey K. Hobson; sister, Frances C. Matthews. Carol was retired from Crown Drugs. She loved to cook for her family and anybody that came by to visit, and she had an art for canning food. Carol loved reading, and listening to preaching and gospel music online with her sister, Brenda. Carol’s family was her world. Mrs. Hutchens was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Eddie Hobson (Melissa Lakey), Joey Hobson (Krystle Brown); grandchildren, Trent Hobson (Heather Bass), Paige Hobson (Jamie Gregory), Dillon Hobson (Erica Minton), Alex (Abbie) Hobson; great-grandchildren, Bryce Hobson, Kelvin, Bentley, Alex, Kinsley; sister, Brenda C. Reavis; brother-in-law, Paul Matthews. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel Rev. Jimmy Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Yadkin Memorial Gardens. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Hutchens family.
