Charles “Charlie” Benjamin Plowman, 59, passed away Friday January 26, 2018. He was born May 8, 1958 in Iredell County to the Charles Melvin Plowman and Opal Holman Plowman. Mr. Plowman is proceeded in death by his father, both sets of grandparents, brother Kenneth Ray Plowman, and K9 companion “Ozzy”. He is survived by his mother Opal Plowman; fiancé and life partner Carol Crews; children Cassandra Plowman (Kory Miller), Jennifer Welborn (Richard Fuller), Shawn D. Marsh (Jessica), Mandy R. Stratmann (Chuck Carter); K9 companion “Little Bear”; grandchildren Christopher Plowman, Joseph Welborn, Nathan Fuller, Taylor Marsh Gilleo, Elizabeth Stratmann, Savanna Fesperman, Alex Gilleo, Joshua Welborn, Alexandrea Stratmann, Caeleigh Welborn; one great grandchild; brothers Bobby Plowman (Melody), Greg Plowman (Rosemary), Billy Joe Plowman. Charlie loved fishing, tying flies to fish with, hunting, drag racing, and playing the guitar. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Forsyth Memorial Hospital for the great care given to Charlie and a special thank you to Dr. David E. Lee. A funeral service will be conducted Monday January 29, 2018, 2:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service, Yadkinville, with the Reverend David Maynard officiating.
