Charles Anderson Chipman

Jonesville Mr. Charles Anderson Chipman, 85, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019. Mr. Chipman was born October 19, 1933 in Surry County to Bill and Daisy Brown Chipman.  He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army.  Mr. Chipman enjoyed woodworking and he retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 44 years of service.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Chipman was preceded in death by a son, Gary Chipman; three brothers, Curt, Tommy & Otis Chipman; and three sisters, Betty Gentry, Dorothy Southard, & Frankie Shaffner. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Ann Haynes Chipman; five children, Patricia (Gary) Holbrook, Charles Dale (Tammy H.) Chipman, Gwyn (Sandy) Chipman, David (Donna) Chipman, and Terry (Tammy) Chipman; daughter-in-law, Lynn Chipman; grandchildren, Melissa (Justin) Billings, Bradley (Rebekah) Holbrook, Lori (Stuart) Earp, Chris Chipman (Amy Jo Couch), Stephanie Chipman, Jenna (Matt) Campbell, Derek (India) Chipman, Stephen (Melissa) Chipman, Ashley Chipman, Rachel Chipman, Toshia (Charles Mauck) Chipman, and Payton Chipman; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Lola (Buddy) Key and Jane (Albert) Darnell; three brothers, Cecil (Sue) Chipman, Bobby (Sandy) Chipman, and Carl (Susan) Chipman; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00PM, Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Travis Chipman officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and NC National Guard Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM, Wednesday evening at Gentry Funeral Service in Jonesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200 Mount Airy NC 27030. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn.
