Charles Davis Evans

Hamptonville – Charles Davis Evans, 86, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020. He was born September 19, 1933 in Yadkin County to the late Carl Davis Evans and Lula Mae Macemore Evans. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Dameron; brothers, Bill Evans, Howard Evans, Ronnie Evans. Surviving is his wife, Ateree Hanes Evans; children, Renae (Randy) Cheek, Tony (Lisa) Evans; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim Lanning) Cheek, Blake Cheek; sisters, Pat Lyons, Judy Wilmoth, Faye Jester; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Swaims Baptist Church by the Rev. Jerry Shelton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Davis will lie in-state one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Swaims Baptist Church. Memorials can be made to Swaims Baptist Church, 3919 Swaims Church Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020.
