Charles William Hutchens

August 12, 1935 — September 25, 2017

Hutchens East Bend-  Mr. Charles William Hutchens, 82, of  Baltimore road passed away peacefully Monday, September 25, 2017 at the SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin.  He  was born August 12, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Harrison and Julia Phillips Hutchens.  Mr. Hutchens was a veteran of the US Army and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 30 years of service.  He was a member of Baltimore United Methodist Church, and attended West Bend Baptist Church in Lewisville.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Ann Hutchens, D.H. Hutchens, Evelyn Hutchens, Elanor Wyatt, and James Hutchens.  Surviving are his wife,  Treva Adams Hutchens, of the home;  his daughters, Sherry (Greg) Burleson of Lewisville; Reta H. (Kent) Curlee of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; grandchildren, Natalie Frye (Will) Renegar, Emily Frye (Mark) Fanning, Elly Grace Curlee; 2 great-grandchildren, Addy Fanning, Mason Fanning; and a sister, Lucy (Nookie) Howell of Yadkinville.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville.  His funeral service will be 3:00 PM Friday at Baltimore United Methodist Church by Rev. Chad Shoaf and Rev. Carroll Bibb.  Mr. Hutchens will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff and volunteers at the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin, for the loving care provided.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin, 243 North Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC  27055.
