Charles Benjamin Jenkins

Dobson Mr. Charles “Pete” Benjamin Jenkins, 83, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Jenkins was born October 28, 1934 in Surry County to Claude and Sarah Childress Jenkins. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and Nascar racing. Mr. Jenkins had a great love for his family and his home. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Pickett. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Clore Jenkins; two children, Sharon “Tooty” (James) Mayes and Victor (Lisa) Jenkins; three grandchildren, James (Laura) Mayes, Dianne (Steve) Smith, and Brian Jenkins; three great grandchildren, Ann-Marie Mayes, Chera Hodges and Elijah Hodges; a sister, Kathy (Bill) Sales; and three brothers, Eugene (Shirley) Jenkins, Jimmy (Barbara) Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. James Mayes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30PM Monday evening at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Lindsey & Mike at Palliative Care at Forsyth Medical Center for the loving care and the Prayer Blanket, to his “little doctor” Dr. Faiza Rais-Reynolds, and the staff of Woltz Hospice Home for the loving care given to Mr. Jenkins. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Jenkins family.
