Charles Turner Lazenby

Hamptonville Mr. Charles Turner Lazenby, 82, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center. Charles was born April 12, 1941 in Forsyth County to Robert and Elsie Owens Lazenby. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. Charles enjoyed NASCAR and going carp fishing. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Katheryne Jennings Lazenby; step-grandson, David Pate; sister, Margaret Lawson and Betty Stroud; and brothers, Robert Lazenby and Norris Lazenby. He is survived by two sons, Wade (Kathy) Lazenby and Rodney (Ruth) Lazenby; grandchildren, Sonya Lazenby, Amanda (Taylor) Upchurch, and RJ (Noel) Lazenby; step-grandchildren, Mandy (John) Pone, Matthew Pate, and Caly Pate; great-grandchildren, Carson, Peyton, Kinley, Kaylee, Bailee, Harper, Emma, Will, and Rico; and a sister, Kay Crawford. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00PM, Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Pardue officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00pm prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center 8th floor Palliative Care and Magnolias for the compassionate care given to Charles.
