Charles H. Potts

Charles H. Potts, 69, of Yadkinville, NC.  - It is with great sadness, the family announces that Charles went to be with the Lord, on Monday morning January 15, 2024.  He was surrounded by his family and friends at the time of his passing.

Charles was born on March 5, 1954 in Forsyth County, North Carolina to Charlie and Maggie Potts.   He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie, his mother, Maggie, his half-brother Billy Mackie, his sisters Mary Ann and Martha Ann.

He is survived by his beloved girlfriend Wanda Butner, 3 adult children; daughter Tammy (Jeff) Wilmoth, his sons; Corey Potts, and Cameron (Kelly) Potts, his grandchildren; Colden Potts, Terra Wilmoth and Connor Wilmoth, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He retired from Hanes Dye and Finishing after 30 years of service. Charles loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hiking and camping every chance he could. Charles loved taking road trips, either to the mountains or the beach.  He was an avid bowler and attended several NC State Tournaments in his earlier years. He could be found most mornings sitting on the back deck, drinking his morning coffee while watching the birds, accompanied by his furry friends, Lily, Archie and Biscuit.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church, 5200 Rena Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020. 

The family is being served by Gentry Family Funeral Home in Yadkinville.
