Charlie Turlington Wood

Mr. Charlie Turlington Wood, 82, passed away on April 7, 2025. Charlie was born in Onslow County on January 14, 1943 to the late Franklin Wood and Mary Belle Williams Patten. In his free time, Charlie enjoyed attending auctions, going fishing, gardening, and just being outside. He also loved playing his harmonica for everyone who was willing to listen. He loved people and never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Matthew Wood. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Baysden Wood; children, Charles Patrick (Allison) Wood and Joshua (Tiffany) Wood; grandchildren, Caroline Wood, Jackson Wood, Lilly Wood, Ethan Wood, and Connor Wood; sister, Rose Mary (Jerry) Carver; nieces, Sophia Patten, Madison Kennemur, Skylar Kennemur, and Loretta Burton; and nephews, Jason Guthrie and Patrick Kennemur.

The family would like to thank the medical groups at Kernersville Medical and Wake Forest Baptist Health for their love and care over Charlie.

A memorial service for Charlie will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11:00am, First Baptist Church Jonesville with full military honors.
