Christopher Cornelius Chappel, Jr.

Elkin Mr. Christopher Cornelius Chappel, Jr., 58, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Woltz Hospice Care Center. Chris was born September 3, 1964 in Forsyth County to Christopher Chappel, Sr. and Lucy Church Hutchens. He enjoyed NASCAR, wrestling and music. Chris took pride in the fact that he was a former member of Yadkinville Fire Department. In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his “dad”, Marshall Hutchens; an infant son; a sister, Regena Chappel; and his longtime partner, Misty Brown. He is survived by four children, Autumn (Dylan) Shepherd, Crystal Brown, Charity Chappel, and Courtney Chappel; grandchildren, Ava & Kody Shepherd and Waylon Widener; sisters, Marie Chappel, Christine (Terry) Hartle, Dorothy Chappel, and Rita Buck; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00PM, Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the NC Chapter of the ALS Association, 4 N. Blount St Suite 200 Raleigh, NC 27601. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice, Woltz Hospice Home, and Yadkin Valley Home Health for the loving care given to Chris.
