JONESVILLE- Mrs. Christyn Lucille Burzynski Coleman, 74, of Triplett Street passed away peacefully Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin. She was born April 22, 1950 in Waupaca County, Wisconsin to the late Leo and Margaret Snowden Burzynski. Mrs. Coleman was a graduate of Appleton High School and a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. On March 16, 1974 she married the love of her life, Everett Coleman, Sr. She then worked for several years in Health Care as a CNA with various nursing homes and behavioral health facilities. Mrs. Coleman was dedicated to helping others, and from her service to others, was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2006 from Crossroads Behavioral Health and in 2011 the Dorthea Dix Spirit Award from N.C. Mental Health Association, of which stated that she was “A courageous woman, mentor to the young, and a leader to us all”. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Coleman; and by her sister, Margaret Ann Burzynski; and brothers, David George Burzynski and Milo John Burzynski. Surviving are her beloved son, E.J. Coleman and fiance’, Deidre Thomason; her grandchildren, Paige Thomason, Christian Owens, Connor Owens; her sister, Mari Botton Collins; brother, Leon Edward Burzynski; her special feline friend, Geroge; and her special caregiver, whom she loved as her sister, Marie Hutchens, her children, Maria Watkins and Nicole Hutchens; and grandchildren, Matthew (Tasha) Wyatt, Joseph Wyatt, Jacob (Cassidy) Watkins, and their children, Caden and Avery. The family will receive friends from 11-1 Tuesday at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 PM Tuesday in the church with Rev. Chris Benfield, Rev. Kenny Pardue, and Rev. Paul Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 3808 Center Road, Boonville, NC 27101.
