Claude Marion “Buck” Strickland

Mr. Claude Marion “Buck” Strickland, 94, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at McLeod Health in South Carolina. Mr. Strickland was born in Siler City, NC to Claude Bailey and Amanda Fields Strickland. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II and retired from Cone Mills Trucking. After retirement, Mr. Strickland moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to enjoy his retirement at the beach!

In addition to his parents, Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his sister, Erma Lewis; Son, Jerry Wayne Strickland; Daughter, Suzanne Perez Latham; and Barbara Jean Ward Strickland.

Mr. Strickland is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Margie Galliher Strickland; Brother, Jack L. Strickland of Grass Valley, CA. Son, Gary Michael (Marian) Strickland of Liberty, NC, son Claude William (Billy) Strickland of Asheboro, NC. Grandchildren: Donald (Amy) Hill, Michael Reginald (Katrina) Strickland, James Joshua (Veronica), Claude Zachary (Caylea) Strickland, Jeni Strickland Oliver (Cody); Great-grandchildren: Hunter M. Hill, Nicolas C. Hill, Austin B. Hill, Kyle B. Hill, Ezra Hill, Micaela Strickland, Aiden Strickland, Carrie Comer, Natalie Strickland, Lydia Strickland, Sophie Strickland, Davis Strickland, and Jase Oliver. In addition to surviving family, Mollie Pittman has been a very special friend and caretaker to Mr. and Mrs. Strickland. Mr. Strickland had a wonderful life with many other friends and extended family.  His funeral service will be 1:00 PM Sunday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Mark Smith with Full Military Honors to follow by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.  Burial will follow in the Longtown Cemetery.  Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Strickland Family.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
