Claude Gaither Wilkins

Claude Gaither Wilkins, 91, passed away Friday August 25, 2017. He was born September 1, 1925 in Yadkin County to the late Daniel McKinley and Zilla Cheek Wilkins. Mr. Wilkins was the owner of Dan Wilkins Paving Company. He served in the US Navy. He was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Wilkins was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Brenda Wilkins Oliver; grandson Brian Steven Guyer; sister Evon Wilkins Bryant. Surviving are his wife Margaret Elder Wilkins; daughter Bonnie Wilkins (Danny) Guyer; grandchildren Marty Oliver, Julie Oliver (Mark) Morgan, Bradley Lynn (Crystal) Guyer; eight great grandchildren; two great – great grandchildren; son-in-law Roger D. Oliver; beloved cat Rusty. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Monday August 28, 2017 at Fall Creek Baptist Church. His funeral will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM at the church by Rev. Don Hudson. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Forsyth Medical Center, Hugh Chatham Nursing and Rehab, and Sandra Cornell for the loving care given to Mr. Wilkins. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B.
