Clay Henry Weatherman

Mr. Clay Weatherman, age 82, of Jonesville, NC went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2022. He was born on August 7, 1939 in Yadkin County to the late Henry Clay and Gertie Mae Cook Weatherman. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, John Dee & Margie Weatherman.

Clay was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church.  He loved the Lord and his church family.  Clay was always a hard worker.  He was a Veteran of the US Army. He was a retired mechanic from RJ Reynolds and enjoyed days spent farming and making molasses.  One of his greatest past times was going to races at Bowman Gray Stadium with Bryan and heading up the Pit Crew.  They won back-to-back Championships in ’92 and ’93. Clay dearly loved his family and always put them first.  Clay is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Linda Macemore Weatherman; children, Beverly Weatherman Harrell, Bryan (Kim) Weatherman; grandchildren, Heather (Larry) Martin, Kayla (Landon) Mitchell, Megan (Matt) Crosswhite, Lakyn Stewart; great-grandchildren, Ansley, Grayson, Ellison, & Anniston Crosswhite; nephew, Michael (Pat) Weatherman; special brother-in-law & wife, Roger and Patricia Macemore and lots of cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive friends at Swan Creek Baptist Church in Jonesville on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 12:00 – 1 PM. The funeral service will follow in the church at 1 PM, officiated by Rev. Scott Bishop. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346 Honor Guard.
