Conard Roosevelt Woodle, 84, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center. Conard was born February 25, 1938 in Wilkes County to the late Ransom and Verlie Royal Woodle. He worked at Southern Screw for several years until they shut down. He then worked at Thomasville Furniture for several years and retired there. Conard was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Conard loved working on cars, gardening, riding his motorcycle in his younger days, and he loved the outdoors. In addition to his parents, Conard was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Macy Woodle; his siblings, Ethel Nichols, Stella Roberts, Eva Blankenship, Allie Walker, and Clyd Woodle. He is survived by his brothers Boyd (Louise) Woodle and Doughton (Betty Jean) Woodle; and a sister, Dicie (Ben) Franklin; several nieces and nephews; and although not his own children, but loved like his own Hannah Brown (Loren) Neal and Rhett Brown. He had neighbors that was like family to him. He also had a cat, Zeke, that he loved dearly. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Thursday September 8, 2022 at St. Paul United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. His funeral will be conducted following the visitation in the fellowship hall by Rev. Danny Royal. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Westwood Hills Nursing, Nathan, David, and other surrounding neighbors for the loving care given to Mr. Woodle. Gentry Family Funeral service in Yadkinville is serving the Woodle family.
